I have taken in many a dog, trained and healed them. I have found a soft spot for the Malamute and sled dog breeds. So here are some pics of dogs I have rescued and found homes for and some that are still part of my family. All have a history and all are now healthy happy and loved.
The dogs who started it all
Nanuk, Odin, Kisska. Kisska was my first rescue and I had her for 11 years. So stubborn and loving. She is the one who made me relalize you can never trust a sled dog not to run. She was an escape artist untill she was five and then she never left my side. She was a special dog and will be forever missed! Odin has passed on. He will now be with his friend Kisska forever Nanuk is still with us and has to be about 14 years old now. He still can act just like a puppy when he wants to.
Gotta love me!
Whiskey is a rescue who is now with his forever family. He now has two girlfriends and two parents to baby him. I am so grateful to everyone who wanted to give him a good home thank you. I know he will be spoiled rotten and loved even more. Keep looking I will always try to help any Malamute I come by and to do that I need all you good people who are willing to take in a needy wonderful dog. Thank you so much !!! UPDATE!!! He is doing awesome. He fit right in and sounds to me like he is kinda a daddy's man I am so happy for him!!
Baby
She was a giant Baby. Her story is too long but please people if you want a Malamute have the proper place for it do not put a logging chain around thier necks and leave them tied to a tree. UPDATE!!!. I can no longer find Baby and her owners. So sad I wish I knew if she was still ok. She would be about 10 years old now. Update again on 7-25-2011. I found Baby or she found me by way of her tags and a good person. She has been moved around three times now. NOT what I wanted for her. But sounds like this new home is wanting to be her forever family. I hope she can now be spoiled the way she deserves. All she wanted was attention and lots of snuggles.
Onni , an alaskan husky. She was found running and underweight. She has a dog aggression issue. Been working with her for sometime. Hopefully can break her of it with time and age. She also loves to escape. She is my true patience tester. UPDATE she is still with me I just have not been able to give her up. She is a very special dog. I just do not know if I could find anyone who could put up with her attitude like I do. It takes a lot of work every day!!! UPDATE I would love to find Onni that perfect home. She is so affectionate with people. She will spend all day with you just snuggling or whatever you want to do. Still plays like a puppy. She gets loads of attention here but I think she would be happiest being the only spoiled rotten dog :)
Codi is in a great home now with four other females, he is in his own little harem. What a wonderful dog whom ever threw him away and let his collar get too tight and let him starve ,really did not have a clue! UPDATE!!! Codi is no longer starving and infact has been loved to death with a little too much love if you know what I mean. I will get pictures so You can see the difference. What a spoiled rotten dog!!!
Nanuk Is a very loving guy who has come a long way. He will never fully trust people again, but at least he is now comfortable and happy. He perfers to be alone and come to you when he wants attention. He was found in a pound and had one day left. He was so matted we had to shave him. The pound never noticed he wasn't drinking his water but spilling it, so he was in need of a emergency vet visit the night I got him for kidney problems. Poor guy who ever had him must of kicked him alot it took 2 years for him to let us step by him or over him. He still sleeps with one eye and ear open. He will remain with us forever!!! UPDATE Nanuk is getting tumors which have been removed but keep coming back. Other then that he is still the same. He has got to be about 14 to 15 years old now. But still can act just like a puppy when he wants to!! Hopefully his body holds on like his mind is!! UPDATE Nanuk had enough of his Tumors and we decided it was time for him to be comfortable Forever!. Very sad day. He lived a full Wonderful rest of his life with us, and will be missed and thought of daily!!!
